Another intense round of Street Fighter

Street Fighter 6 has officially taken over from Street Fighter 5, bringing fresh content to the franchise. Developed by Capcom, this entry stays true to the action series’ roots while introducing new features. Classic one-on-one battles remain, but additional modes and mechanics make the game more engaging for both veterans and newcomers.

Visually, Street Fighter 6 boasts an evolved art style, with character models powered by the RE Engine. Many fan-favorite fighters return alongside new challengers, creating a diverse roster. Blending nostalgia and innovation, the game refines the series’ mechanics while offering fresh experiences for players of all skill levels.

More polished fighters

The release offers fans slicker-looking character models for Luke and Ryu. Classic fan favorites like Chun-Li, Manon, Dhalsim, Zangief, and Ken are also part of the roster. Additional characters, including Rashid, A.K.I., Ed, and Akuma, have been added post-launch but require separate purchases through season passes or bundles.

Beyond updated character models, the game boasts an overall polished look. Moreover, it offers multiple modes, including Local, Online Versus, Arcade, Training, World Tour, Battle Hub, and Extreme Battle. A real-time commentary feature, with subtitles in 14 languages, enhances the competitive experience.

Chun-Li returns in Street Fighter 6

SF6 Chun-Li, one of the most iconic characters in the fighting game genre, makes her comeback in Street Fighter 6. With a fresh look and her legendary, powerful kicks, she remains a force to be reckoned with. Chun-Li now runs kung fu classes and is a beloved member of her community, enjoying shopping with Li-Fen and days off, while disliking crime and indecisiveness.

Juri's sadistic thrills continue in SF6

In Street Fighter 6, Juri, who made her debut in Super Street Fighter IV, retains her sadistic personality and love for obliterating foes. With M. Bison gone, she now seeks her next thrill. Juri's signature Fuhajin move returns, allowing her to store Fuha stocks, which can enhance her special moves and create unique playstyle opportunities.

Juri: outfit 4 feat. æspa

Players can purchase “Juri: Outfit 4 feat. æspa” in ten color variants for 350 Fighter Coins. The outfit is packed with exclusive flair: a K-pop remix of Juri’s theme and æspa-inspired visual effects that play during matches. Gain access to an æspa-themed Battle Hub, nævis, æspa’s virtual AI artist, and the first virtual color commentator in SF6. Available in English, Japanese, and Korean, her real-time commentary includes quirky nods to æspa lore. Moreover, a free "æconic" item is awarded to everyone who logs in during the event window.

Cammy's tactical advantage in SF6

Cammy joins the Street Fighter 6 roster with her classic agility and quick strikes. As a tactical fighter, Cammy is known for her speed and precision, making her a formidable opponent in any match-up. Keep an eye out for her impressive moves and combos as she returns to the battlefield.

Ryu's journey to greater heights

Ryu, a well-known figure in the Street Fighter universe, is back in Street Fighter 6. As a sincere and well-mannered martial artist, he travels the globe seeking worthy adversaries. Having conquered the Satsui no Hado, Ryu now aims for even greater heights in his martial arts journey.

Is Street Fighter 6 before 3?

According to Capcom developers, the story of Street Fighter 6 is set a few years after the events of the Street Fighter 3 trilogy. This marks the game as the current end of the game franchise’s timeline. Following the first installment of the game series, the chronological order would continue with Alpha, SF 2, SF 4, SF 5, and SF 3.

How old is Ryu in Street Fighter 6?

As previously mentioned, the events of Street Fighter 6 take place approximately a decade after Street Fighter 3. With Ryu’s age set at around 33 years old during the events of the aforementioned title, he would be around 43 years old in SF6.

Is Street Fighter 6 free?

Unfortunately, Street Fighter 6—much like the other previous titles in the franchise—is a premium game that you have to pay for to play. There are three editions for players to check out: the original, the Deluxe Edition, and the Ultimate Edition. However, players still have the opportunity to try it out for free by downloading the game’s demo. Take note, though, that the demo only features up to a certain point of the World Tour mode.

Familiar fighters in Year 3

The Street Fighter 6 Year 3 Characters DLC adds four fighters to the lineup, each with their own unique style. Sagat returns with powerful Muay Thai moves, while C. Viper uses high-tech gadgets and tools. Alex, the fan-favorite wrestler, brings brute strength to the fight.

Ingrid also joins the roster. Don’t be fooled by her appearance, as her mysterious powers make her a formidable rival for any challenger. These new additions add variety to the game and give players fresh ways to battle. Whether you like raw power, flashy tech, or magical attacks, this DLC adds something new to enjoy in every match.

Sagat makes his glorious return

The “Sagat Arrives!” Fighting Pass for Street Fighter 6 sees the return of Sagat, a menacing and ferocious fighter specializing in the art of Muay Thai. He was first introduced in the original Street Fighter as the final boss and has been a recurring character since then. With his triumphant return, the Fighting Pass also includes additional cosmetics, such as Ken’s Outfit 3 Color EX1 and Ryu’s Outfit 2 Color EX2.

There’s also a bunch of new avatar gear like the Wanderer’s Top and the Wanderer’s Eyepatch, along with an emote, Martial Artist’s Step. Players will also gain access to additional effects for the challenger’s screen, including the Break Down effect, as well as visuals for Chun-Li and Zangief when they challenge for a match.

The return of C. Viper

C. Viper is finally back, and she’s bringing her high-tech flair to Street Fighter 6. First introduced in Street Fighter IV as an undercover agent, she now returns as a research director for SiRN. Staying true to her style, C. Viper uses cool gadgets to pull off strong and flashy attacks.

Her moves are as dynamic as ever — Thunder Dash surges with electricity, Seismic Hammer shakes the ground with a shock wave, and Burning Kick scorches opponents. She also comes equipped with special abilities, including High Jump and Focus Force. She’s a great choice for players who like technical characters with more advanced abilities.

Hyping up fans

Street Fighter 6 brings fresh energy to the franchise by introducing a dynamic roster that combines beloved classics and fresh faces. The improved character models and the polished visual design enhance the overall experience, while the variety of game modes ensures that both casual players and competitive fighters have plenty to enjoy. Overall, this is a must-play for both long-time fans and newcomers alike.
